What is a liposome and its function?

Liposomes are currently widely studied nanodrug carriers in drug delivery systems. They are closed vesicles composed of a lipid bilayer composed of phospholipids and cholesterol. The basic structure of biological plasma membrane is also a phospholipid bilayer membrane. Liposomes have a structure similar to biological cells. Therefore, liposomes have good biocompatibility, so they are also called “artificial biological membranes”. ”, “artificial cells”. Liposomes take advantage of this compatibility to achieve targeted or efficient delivery of drugs. The ideal liposome should have the characteristics of good histocompatibility, low toxicity, suitable encapsulation ability and release ability.

Liposomes

Because of the traditional oral diet, the absorption rate and bioavailability of nutritional tablets and capsules are low, and the encapsulated lipophilic and hydrophilic nutrients in liposomes can bypass destructive factors directly to the small intestine and effectively transport to cells and tissues.

Liposome nutritional supplements contain bioactive compounds that promote health. Encapsulating bioactive compounds in liposomes is attractive because liposomes have been shown to overcome serious obstacles that bioactive substances encounter in the gastrointestinal tract after taken orally.

There are many functional drugs or nutritional components with high cosmetic value, such as extracts from effective ingredients of Chinese herbal medicine, chemical/biochemical drugs, vitamins, and animal and plant oils, which have good cosmetic effects (such as antioxidant, whitening and nourishing, freckle removal, etc.). The vast majority of these functional components are insoluble substances, which are difficult to exert their efficacy through the skin barrier when used. Using lecithin, which has good physiological compatibility and high safety, as the carrier material, modern nanoliposome technology is used to make these insoluble functional substances into nanoliposome microcapsules with a particle size less than 50nm. These microcapsules can carry drugs naturally through the human skin barrier, transport the functional substances to the interlayer of dermal cells, and form nutrient reservoirs, thus fully realizing their efficacy.

Typical example:

1. Coenzyme Q10 (biochemical drug) antioxidant/anti-aging nanoliposome series:

·Coenzyme Q10 is a key enzyme in the synthesis of ATP in the mitochondrial respiratory chain of human cells. It has antioxidant properties, enhances cell activity, and prolongs cell cycle. It is an important insoluble substance found in modern life science research that participates in regulating cell physiological activity. Coenzyme Q10 is widely present in various tissues and organs of the human body, with the highest content in the heart and brain regions. The level of coenzyme Q10 in human cells begins to decline around the age of 20, leading to aging in the human body. Supplementing coenzyme Q10 with exogenous substances helps cells resist oxidation, improve activity, and prolong their lifespan. The coenzyme Q10 nanoliposome technology can effectively transport drugs through the skin barrier, greatly improving drug absorption and utilization, providing an effective material basis for cells to maintain important physiological activities, fundamentally improving the activity of human cells at the cellular level, and achieving excellent antioxidant/anti-aging effects.

2. Active ingredient extract nanoliposome series:

The traditional culture of traditional Chinese medicine is vast and profound. Many Chinese herbal medicines, such as ginkgo, safflower, ginseng, aloe vera, and other effective ingredients, have excellent beauty, nourishment, and freckle removal effects. The use of nanoliposome technology to solve its absorption difficulties and improve its efficacy, and the development and production of related technical products, are inheritance and development of the precious traditional culture of traditional Chinese medicine, with very unique characteristics.

3. Vitamin series nanoliposome series

Vitamin series are a major category, such as lipid soluble Va, Vc, Ve series, etc. They are essential nutrients for the maintenance of human cell function. They solve the problem of transdermal absorption through nanoliposome technology and have important efficacy applications in antioxidant, wrinkle resistant, whitening and nourishing aspects.

4. Animal and vegetable oil nanoliposome series

Many animal and vegetable oils (such as crocodile oil, ostrich oil, giant salamander oil, snake oil, etc.) contain rich nutrients such as unsaturated fatty acids that are essential to the human body. They are a large class of cosmetic ingredients with high application value. Through nanoliposome technology, they solve the problem of transdermal absorption and have good cosmetic effects in whitening, nourishing, anti wrinkle, and lubricating the skin.
